As a part of Bishop Sutton's Appeal, Reading Camp Harford hosted a week-long experience for young learners at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Abingdon, Maryland. The parishes of St. Mary's, Emmanuel (Bel Air), Holy Trinity (Churchville), and St. John's (Havre de Grace) coordinated together for months to make this special event happen!
- 4 daily reading classes (comprehension, phonics, writing, and discovery)
- Rolling Reader visit from Harford Public Library
- Interactive visit with Author/Quilt Artist Gyleen Fitzgerald
- Presentation from Richard Anderson/Eden Mill on "Survival in Winter"
- Presentation from Patricia Cantler/Master Wildlife Rehabilitator of Tiny Treasures Wildlife Rehabilitation Center
- Taekwondo class and demonstration from Master Jeremy/Chung's Martial Arts
- Scavenger hunt
- Daily art and teamwork activities
- Camp carnival with games, magician, and face painting
- Daily book breaks
- A fantastic kitchen team that made breakfasts, snacks, and lunches for all campers and staff
We would like to thank all of the parishioners who gave their time, talents, and gifts as teachers, volunteers, and staff. It was wonderful to see how much good work can be done for our community when we combine our resources together!
