Part-Time Parish Administrator

St. John’s Episcopal Church – Havre de Grace, MD

20 hours/week • $20/hour • On-site position (with flexibility for some hours being remote)

St. John’s Episcopal Church seeks a warm, organized, and tech-savvy Parish Administrator to support the Priest-in-Charge, Wardens, and Treasurer. This role is central to our ministry of hospitality and welcome, and is open to all applicants regardless of faith background.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support and maintain confidential records.

  • Create weekly worship bulletins; manage email, phones, mail, and church calendars.

  • Update the church website (Wix) and social media; prepare simple graphics (Canva, Adobe Express).

  • Maintain membership lists and vital statistics (baptisms, marriages, etc.).

  • Assist with meeting planning and communication with vendors and renters.

  • Perform basic bookkeeping/data entry in QuickBooks; use PayPal/Venmo/Square reports.

  • Order supplies and support special events as needed.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Clear, friendly communication and the ability to work independently.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and discretion.

  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office, online platforms, and learning new systems.

  • Experience in customer service or church/nonprofit settings preferred.

  • Must pass required background checks and complete Episcopal Safe Church training.
