Rev. James T. Snodgrass, Priest-in-Charge
Father James came to St. John’s Havre de Grace as the Priest-in-Charge in 2013. He was ordained in 1976 in the Diocese of New York. He served 10 years as an inner-city priest in bilingual churches in Harlem, the South Bronx, and Newark, NJ, 4 years in a cathedral in Cincinnati, and 16 years in Olean, NY. In 2006, he and his wife, an ecologist, co-founded a retreat center and new mission in the rural mountains of Puerto Rico, weaving together spirituality and care of creation. James has helped found three emergency shelters for families, organized and directed four church-based sleep away camps, and initiated ecumenical and interfaith partnerships. Father James is married to Patty Parsley in a blended family of seven adult children and eight grandchildren.
Rev. Jane O’Leary, Deacon
Jane came to St. John’s during the pandemic in 2020, after serving as Archdeacon of the Episcopal Diocese of Maryland. Jane was ordained in 1989 in the Diocese of Connecticut, coming to MD in 2002. She has served several parishes in both dioceses, most recently in Baltimore City. Jane is a licensed social worker and is retired after 50 years leading human service organizations in support of low income and vulnerable people. Jane and her husband Bill Mundy live in Baltimore County and have a blended family of 6 adult children and 7 grandchildren.
William A. Price III, Senior Warden
Bill has been a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church Havre de Grace for fifteen years. He and his wife, Gay Lynn, were married here. Bill has served St. John’s as a Junior Warden, then Senior Warden, and Chair of Capital Campaign. Professionally, Bill is Vice President of AKT3 Company for lighting and serves as Chair of the Havre de Grace Arts Collective and Havre de Grace Opera House.
Irmgarde Brown, Junior Warden
Irmgarde Brown is a retired librarian/manager from Harford County Public Library, a long-time blogger (MeditationsFromZion.com), a photographer, a playwright and director, an active volunteer in the Havre de Grace arts community, a friend to the Village of Hope, Zambia, and a newly branded Episcopalian after forty years in the non-denominational church. Irmgarde has attended St. John’s since Fall of 2019. In July 2021, she will begin a two year commitment to the Living School of Action and Contemplation (online) out of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is a widow, the mother of three adoptees from Eastern Europe (now grown), and a grandmother of two. Her first novel, Sister Jane, is scheduled for launch in late June 2021. She is also the co-author of the memoir, Evidence Now Seen: How God Used One Couple to Touch the Lives of Orphaned and Vulnerable Children in Zambia scheduled for publication in the fall of 2021.
Patricia Hopkins, Treasurer
Pat has been a member of St. John’s Havre de Grace for eleven years with her husband, David. She is the mother of three wonderful children and grandmother of four spectacular grandchildren. Pat is active on the ECW, leading some projects, and volunteers for St. John’s Cupboard. She was Junior Warden from 2016 – 2019 and Treasurer from 2019 to the present.
Elisa Cuapio, Registrar
Elisa has been a member of St. John’s since she moved to Havre de Grace in 2014. She grew up in Connecticut as a member of St. John’s, New Milford. Her father is a retired Episcopal priest from the Diocese of New York. Elisa is currently an ESL Teacher with Baltimore County Public Schools. She is married to Julio Cuapio and has a teenage daughter, Isabel. At St. John’s, Elisa does a weekly pick-up for the Pantry and has organized several events.
Shelia McCutcheon, Parish Administrator
Sheila has been a member of St. John’s Havre de Grace since childhood. She was baptized and confirmed here, as were her children and six grandchildren. She has been married for 47 years and a foster parent for 33 years. She blessed us by becoming our Parish Administrator after 22 years working at APG. She also serves as Co-chair of St. John’s Cupboard with Nadine Anderson and Lori Gengenbach.
